A Circuit So Nice, You’ll Play It Twice!
The Science Fair is a unique overdrive/distortion from Summer School Electronics that allows you to blend 2 classic overdrive flavors into a unique sound. The left side of the pedal, with black knobs, is referred to as the Lab Rat. A hard-clipping crispy distortion. The right side with the green knobs is called the Test Tube soft clipping mid-range overdrive with a mid-hump boost. The 2 sides are run in parallel with individual drive and tone knobs, and the center silver knob column features a master blend and volume.
By completely turning the blend to the left or right the user can use Summer School Electronics’ versions of these classic circuits. But the Science fair really comes alive by turning blending the 2 pedals and adjusting the individual drive and tone knobs. This allows the Science Fair to give aggressive distortion while maintaining the clarity of the notes, or a softer attack with a hint of grit to pop through the mix. The Science Fair allows the user to find their signature sound, while also being a unique pedal that can provide a variety of options in recording and live applications. The Science Fair runs on a standard 9-volt, neg. center power supply, and has a lifetime warranty. Hand built in Syracuse, NY by working musicians with attention to detail.
The Class Reunion combines Summer School Electronics’ take on a 90’s Russian Muff with our 2020’s Trash Panda in parallel with a master volume & blend knobs (SILVER). Each side features its own Drive and Tone knobs as well as Diode Selection toggle. (BLACK KNOBS = 90’S MUFF, GREEN KNOBS = TRASH PANDA) By tweaking the parameters, the user can open a world of tones which makes The Class Reunion a versatile drive,as well as a Riff-Writing-Machine. The silicon setting on the muff side (BLACK KNOBS) is a more standard classic muff sound, while the LED setting creates a darker sound with more low end. The LED setting on the Trash Panda side (GREEN KNOBS) is the classic amp-like overdrive from our Trash Panda, while the silicon setting is a lower output, but provides a crispier fizzier drive. By mixing these diode settings with the blend knob, the user can create so many sonic flavors!
After years of building complicated circuits, Fuzz 101 is a back to basics approach to fuzz. Utilizing 2 BC108 silicon transistors, and some legendary fuzz mods, Fuzz 101 takes the concept back to basics with modern amenities loved by modern players. Along with the traditional Volume and Fuzz controls, Fuzz 101 incorporates an external Bias control that allows the user to adjust the voltage to the transistors to dial in the perfect tone whether its sputtery Velcro fuzz, or big-sounding distortion. The Tone knob controls a Rat-inspired tone circuit that allows enough EQ control to cut through a mix or take the trebley edge off and blend in. The artwork includes the classic Summer School Easter eggs drawing from pedal building as well as Freshman math class.
Fuzz 101 is made in Syracuse, NY by working musicians, and operates on a 9-volt, negative center power supply.

While all of our effect pedals are available online, some guitarists like to get their hand on a pedal before they commit.
